Homemade Burger Buns
Preparation:
1 – Dissolve the fresh yeast in lukewarm water and let it rest for 10 minutes.
2 – In the bowl of your stand mixer, combine the dry ingredients: flour, salt, sugar, and powdered milk. Mix well.
3 – Add the water/yeast mixture and begin kneading at medium speed with the dough hook.
4 – Gradually add the softened butter.
5 – Knead for 10 minutes until the dough is elastic and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
Shaping and Proofing:
1 – Place the dough on a floured work surface.
2 – Divide the dough into 10 portions of approximately 100g each and shape them into smooth, round balls.
3 – Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
4 – Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 2 hours.
Baking:
1 – Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
2 – Beat the egg and gently brush it over the tops of the buns.
3 – Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
4 – Bake for 18 minutes.
5 – Let cool completely before slicing and filling.
