Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

These hearty cabbage rolls are a timeless comfort dish, filled with a spiced  beef and rice mixture and smothered in a rich, slightly sweet  tomato sauce. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions alike.

Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • ¾ cup uncooked white rice

  • 2 large eggs

  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, minced

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • ½ tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp  black pepper

For the Cabbage:

  • 1 large head green cabbage

For the Tomato Sauce:

  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 (28 oz) can fire-roasted tomatoes, with juice

  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce

  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
