Italian Meat Sauce

Ingredients:

1.5 lbs lean ground beef

1 lb ground pork (not sausage)

Good swirl of olive oil

1 red onion, chopped

2 tsp minced garlic

15 oz can tomato sauce

12 oz can tomato paste

2 (28 oz) cans crushed tomatoes (Contadina recommended)

4 cups chicken broth

4 tsp dried parsley

4 tsp dried oregano

2 tsp dried basil

2 tsp dried marjoram

2 good dashes of ground nutmeg

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup Chianti or good dry red wine
