Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish.
Cream Wet Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Mix in the vanilla extract.
Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
Mix the Batter: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pie dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the center is set.
Cool and Serve: Allow the pie to cool in the dish for 10-15 minutes. It’s best served warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
Note: The pie will be very soft and fudgy right out of the oven—this is exactly how it should be! It will firm up slightly as it cools.
