Ham and Potato Corn Chowder

Ingredients

  • 29 oz (about 3.5 cups) chicken broth

  • 1 bay leaf

  • ¾ tsp dried oregano

  • ½ tsp dried thyme

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Cream Sauce:

  • ⅓ cup all-purpose flour

  • 3 cups milk

  • ½ cup heavy cream

For Garnish:

  • 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled

  • Freshly chopped chives or green onions
