👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Cook the Beef Mixture

  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and bell pepper over medium heat until browned and tender (6–8 min).
  • Drain excess fat.

2. Add Sauce & Seasoning

  • Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add ketchup, tomato paste, brown sugar, Worcestershire, mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Simmer on low for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3. Prep the Toast

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Mix softened butter with garlic powder.
  • Spread on both sides of each toast slice.
  • Arrange on a baking sheet.

4. Toast the Bread

  • Bake for 5–6 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.

5. Assemble the Sloppy Joes

  • Spoon beef mixture onto each toast slice.
  • Top with shredded cheddar.

6. Melt the Cheese

  • Return to oven for 3–4 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
